Hello TechCrunch Hackers!

We are so excited for tomorrow, and hope you are too! We're Hyphenate, a cloud-based provider of in-app chat. We're based here in sunny ;) San Francisco, just a few blocks from Pier 48 in SoMa.

Our messaging platform enables developers to integrate chat capabilities into mobile and web apps at a fraction of the time and cost of building it in-house. Our chat service includes a customizable UI, plug & play integration, & multi-platform support (we support iOS, Android, Web, and React Native). We power one-to-one chat, group chat, and chat rooms. Our full suite of features include: text, image & file sharing, voice & video, emojis, chatbot integration, typing indicators, location sharing, delivery status, & self-destructing messages.

CHALLENGE: The best / most creative use of the Hyphenate in-app chat SDKs & API in a mobile app. First place will win $3,000, and 2nd place will win $1,000! There will also be additional surprise prizes for each member of the 1st and 2nd place teams!

Our challenge is very broad, giving you the creative freedom to wow us with your projects! We're looking for unique and innovative apps that leverage our in-app chat platform to create exciting and innovative user experiences and engagement. This could entail the use of ANY of our chat features or scenarios in any and all mobile app product categories! In-app chat benefits apps of all types as users look to connect in every aspect of their digital lives, both with other users & with businesses! We're excited to see what you come up with!
